Rabarber

Skördar rabarber för att göra rabarbersirap. Såg receptet på alltommat.se. Hur mycket ska jag ta för att det ska bli 250 g? Ni ser fröställningarna på bilden. Vad gör man med dem?


Harvests rhubarb to make rhubarb syrup. I found the recipe on a website alltommat.se. How many rhubarbs is 250g? You see all the seed on the pic? What can I do with them?

Har ingen aning om vad rosen heter men den är fin och luktar gott.

Rose. Have no idea what the rose is called, but its nice and smell good to.

Fredagens skolavslutning

Var ute i trädgården och plockade blommor till skolan jag jobbar på. Vet knappt vad mina blommor heter. De blå är i all fall midsommarblomster fick jag lära mig, en näva (och även perenn tror jag).



Was out in the garden and picked flowers to take to  the school I work at. I hardly know what my flowers name or sort. The blue is midsommarblomster (cranesbill?), I learned, a näva (cranesbill?) (and perennial,,I think).

Husmorstips en regnig dag

Det regnar här, stundtals det riktigt öser ner. Är inne och städar istället. Ni vet mikrovågsugnar är inte det roligaste eller lättaste att rengöra. Ta en citronhalva och lägg i en skål med vatten. Sätt in i micron, kör någon minut, låt stå en stund så ångorna får jobba lite, sedan är det bara att torka ur micron. Skinande rent och lätt som en plätt.

It's raining here, sometimes it really is pouring down. Inside cleaning instead. You know the microwave is not the best or easiest to clean. Take a lemon half and place in a bowl with water. Place in the microwave, run for a minute or few, leave for a while so the steam from the lemon and water  do the work, then you just have to wipe the microwave. Spotlessly clean and easy as pie.

Vinrankan, hejdå!

Efter mycket funderande fram och tillbaka så beslutade vi oss för att såga ner vinrankan. Jag tycker det är lite synd med tanke på att den har vuxit till sig och är riktgit stor, frodig och ger mycket druvor.  Fast och andra sidan så brer den ut sig och tar mycket plats, visst man kan trimma den och hålla den i schack. Vi kom också fram till att det är nästan bara jag som äter druvorna. Barnen tycker att det är jobbigt med alla kärnor, de är så vana vi kärnfria samt att de tycker att skalet är lite kärvt.
Så nu är vinrankan borta och den har fått get plats till några pallkragar/odlingslådor istället.


Say goodbye to the vine!
After a lot thinking and talking we decided to cut down the vine. I think it is a pity because it has grown a lot and is  large, lush and provides much grapes. But the other side of the coin it spreads out and takes a lot of space, and an alternative is to trim it and keep it in check. We also came to the conclusion that it is almost only me who eats the grapes. The children find it difficult with all grape seeds, they are so used we seedless and they think that the shell is a bit harsh. So now the vine is gone and had get room to pallkragar/odlingslådor instead.

Det tar sig i trädgårdslandet.

Det är så roligt att se att det växer i trädgårdslandet. Potatis, lök, dill och sallad.

Its so fun to see how it is growing. Potatoes, onion, dill and lettuce.

Egna fröpåsar

Vädret har varit blandat under helgen. Det har varit solsken halva dagarna och regn den andra halvan mer eller mindre. Gjort lite trädgårds arbete och när det har regnat har jag varit inne och bland annat gjort egna fröpåsar. Jag vek påsar av gamla tidningar, satt etiketter på dem och stoppat i frön som jag sparat från snack paprikor jag tyckte var goda. Jag tänkte så dem nästa vår så får vi se om det fungerar.


My own self made seed bags.
The weather has been mixed over the weekend. There has been sunshine half day and rain the other half more or less. Did a little bit of  garden work and when it has rained, I have been inside and made packets of seeds. I folded bags of old magazines, put labels on them and put in the seeds that I saved from the snack peppers I thought was tasty. I will try to sow the seeds next year. We'll see if it works.
